PM-KUSUM has three components: (A) decentralised ground-mounted grid-connected solar power plants up to 2 MW on barren/uncultivable land, (B) standalone off-grid solar pumps, and (C) solarisation of grid-connected pumps. Each comes with a subsidy structure that sharply reduces the farmer's out-of-pocket cost.
